How this works, and what RAG means

Each question is answered by reading everything: the full text of all my published articles and my About and Services pages goes to the model with your question, so it can connect ideas across articles.

Under each answer you can also compare it with a RAG answer. RAG stands for retrieval-augmented generation: instead of reading everything, the AI first searches the documents and answers from only the passages the search finds. It is how most business AI assistants work. Here it uses the same model and instructions, given the six best-matching passages, and a table shows what each approach read, how long it took and which articles each one used.
